In Second grade the remaining themes in Imagine It! are Look Again, Courage, and America’s People.
The themes in Kaleidoscope include Ready, Set, Grow, Courage, and Our Country and it’s People.
Now in the second half of this year the students are to read 20 minutes a night instead of 15.
To prepare the students for 3rd grade, we do NOT read the assessments to the students anymore.
Just a warning: This may lead to a few low reading grades in the beginning.
Our field trips for the rest of the year include a trip to the Science Center on Friday, March 21st and Bone Zone (an in-school field trip) on Tuesday, April 22nd.
The 2nd grade students will also be performing at a few concerts.
We were so excited about our 3rd Annual Salute to America Production and you can see why here.
This excellent display shows our students singing, dancing, playing instruments, and reciting information on famous Americans.
Students have also been practicing the violin two days a week. They will be performing on May 1st; please look for more information to follow.
In Everyday Math, the remaining units in 2nd grade include Patterns and Rules, Fractions, Measurement, Decimals and Place Value, and Whole-Number Operations Revisited. It is important that your child completes their math homework each night.
We are excited for all the fun activities and learning to continue in the second half of 2nd grade.
Thank you for your support at home! Please contact your child’s teacher should you have any questions or concerns.
